2013 ALAS Culture Show: A recap
A few Saturdays ago was the ALAS (Association of Latin American Students) Culture Show, a dazzling display of diverse Tufts performance groups including La Salsa, Spirit of Color, Burlesque, S-Factor, a bachata band, and more. The evening was Oscars themed, with a red carpet, paparazzi, and optional semiformal dress code. As if that wasn’t exciting enough, ALAS put together an elaborate pre-show dinner that featured catered food of several different Latin American cultures, including: Brazilian, Colombian, Cuban, Dominican, Mexican, Peruvian, Salvadorian, and Venezuelan cuisines. Unsurprisingly, the event was very popular, and quite a large number of people jumped in line to get themselves a sampling of these delicious foods. In case you weren’t able to make it, here are a few photos of some of the meal’s highlights.
